Age - Younger age groups were under-represented. Almost half (48%) of the feedback was received from people 55 years or older, and only 12% of the feedback was from people under 35.

Health conditions Over 1/3 of people
indicated they had one or more health conditions, 4,793 people 37%. The most common health conditions were Chronic illness 9.8%, Mental distress 6.1%, Physical disability 5.1%.

Location - We heard from people across
the country and abroad, 74.7% from the North Island, 25.3% from the South Island, 1.7% from overseas. Gender - We heard from more females than males.

Ethnicity - The majority of people who shared their experiences of the pandemic were NZ European/Pākehā, or ‘other European’ (86%).

841 people said they were affiliated with one or multiple iwi. Almost 10% of those who submitted were Māori, making this the second largest ethnicity group.
